LNN Gaming Club Returns | Registration

LNN Gaming Club is back and better! The club is open to ACH students who are 13-years-old or older. There will be a Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 gaming club. The focus for Fall 2021 is Minecraft! Students will join a shared world hosted at the school during club time.

Sign up for Fall 2021 is open now through Wednesday, August 25. The first club meeting is mandatory and will be held Tuesday, August 31, 3:00-4:30. Registered members must attend the first meeting. If absent, members must join via Google Meet. The first meeting includes important training on gaming etiquette and building character-first relationships. We will then create our Minecraft world.

Starting August 31, the gaming club will meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Room 101. Students can choose one or both days to attend. Students must attend at least one club meeting weekly with no more than two consecutive weeks missed to remain enrolled in the gaming club. The gaming club will not be hosted during exam weeks. The club meets from 3:00 to 4:30 on the high school campus in Room 101.

Members of the LNN Gaming Club will need to have access to a device with Minecraft Bedrock Edition. The school does not provide a device. Bedrock Edition is available on iPhone, iPad, Android, Android tablets, Amazon Fire tablet, Windows devices, and Mac devices. Please, do not bring your Xbox, PS, or Switch. If using Windows/Mac laptop, make sure you have the Bedrock Edition and not the Java Edition. The preferred way to play is to have a device that you can connect to a controller (either by Bluetooth or wired) or a mouse/keyboard. Amazon sells adapters that allow you to connect controllers and keyboard/mouse to virtually any type of device. If you need help finding one, let me (Mr. Denham) know!

Why should you join the LNN Gaming Club?

Gaming club is a great place to make a new friend!

Students will learn essential skills in teamwork with the goal of creating a school gaming community! Students will work together to create, explore, and survive in Minecraft!

Students will also learn acceptable gaming etiquette with a focus on reflecting Christian values while communicating and playing games.

Students who desire to learn game streaming, editing, and publishing will have an opportunity to record, edit, and publish gameplay to Lion Nation News’s YouTube channel.

Note to Parents/Guardians:

Students will access a Minecraft world that is hosted from a school computer under teacher supervision. The Minecraft world is only accessible to invited students while at school. The game world is not online and is not open to the public.
