Last Friday, ACH’s football team hosted the jamboree. They did great, playing against Houma Christian and then St. John. When playing against Houma Christian, they won, getting a score of 8-6. For the last game, when they played against St. John, they got a score of 16-13.
After losing three seniors in 2018, Ascension Christian attempts to bounce back with one of the largest senior classes in school history.
2018 was a difficult year for the Lions as they went 3-7 with a string of injuries throughout the season. Midway through the season, the team lost seven starters. Losing so much experience hurt Ascension Christian on both sides of the ball.
Even through the bad luck we had last football season, we bounced back at the jamboree.
The football team’s coach, Joshua Puryear, had some very positive things to say about the game.
LNN reporter, Haven asked, “How did you feel about the two games on Friday?” Coach Puryear responded, “I think they had a good showing, and I think they competed well. I also think it was a good show out for both teams.”
