A Thousand Generations

First off, I would like to thank Raisha Kelley for leading this segment. I think it is so great how she wrote her last article and entrusted another person to finish it. I am thankful I get to be that person for this semester!

1 Chronicles 16:15-16 NIV

15 “He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations, 16 the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.”

I suggest taking these two verses piece by piece. Meaning, look at verse fifteen. Grasp those detrimental words. I say detrimental because it means to cause harm, but I look at it as Jesus is causing harm to the enemy. He is taking back every single child that is His, and not one of this worlds.

I want to encourage you today that the Lord has not, even for a single second, forgot the promise He has proclaimed to you. And maybe you are reading this, and you don’t have a promise to hold onto from God. You should ask Him for one!

I like how the Bible says that God remembers His promise for a thousand generations. So, we can be confident that He, the Greatest of everything, has not dropped the promise. He remembers you. He sees you and watches every single move you make. (Read Psalms 139)

To conclude, our God remembered His promise to Abraham, a man we didn’t meet. And I will watch Him fulfill His promise to Us. He so sees you! Stick with Him!

Hearts,
Sarah Nelson
