Sports Reporter Derrick Varnado: What does it mean to be one of the top 10 players in Ascension Parish to want to come out and watch?
Kylie Jones: Well to me it means a lot, because I’ve been working on volleyball for a very long time. I’ve always wanted to be recognized for something and this is my favorite sport. It is very exciting ‘cause you know: who doesn’t want to be watched in their favorite sport?
DV: As one of the leaders on the team, how do you see this season going?
KJ: This season is gonna go good for us. We are gonna try our best and thrive, because Best is the Standard. We’ve worked hard this summer, and we are pumped for the season.
DV: Knowing that you are coming right off an injury, will you be able to start in the first game?
KJ: Yes. I do plan to start in the first game, because I am back practicing. I have never worked this hard in my life on something.
DV: If so, how do you think you will now play after going through a tough time getting back into everything?
KJ: I think I will play well this season, but it will be really tough after this injury. It will be more of a mental thing this year.
DV: Do you plan to play college volleyball in the future?
KJ: I did plan on playing college volleyball, but after my injury I won’t anymore.
DV: Thanks for taking the time to talk with Lion Nation News. The staff and myself wish all the best luck this volleyball season!
