What is your first day at ACH going to be like?
- New notebooks
- New pens
- New computer
- New shoes
- New jeans
Did you check off the list of must haves?
What about attitude? What about purposing thoughts to do better than before? What about making drastic changes in friends and work ethic that will alter not just your path, but those that are watching you? WOW, what would our school be like then?!
Maybe last year wasn’t all you expected. Maybe you made poor decisions… prioritized “the fun” ahead of “the work” most days. Maybe you chose poorly with friendships. MAYBE you made the right choices, tried harder but didn’t quite meet the grade goals that you wanted. Maybe WE ALL tried hard but in OUR OWN STRENGTH. There is a better way.
Last year is done. The past is the past. Today is a fresh start to the NEW YOU. Let’s plan to CHOOSE to make a different path, in GOD’S STRENGTH. No matter what last year or even last week looked like, God has the best plan for us individually. A plan that far exceeds anything we can do in our own way or strength. I encourage you to take time in God’s Word, seek His direction, and do the hard work that helps you to reach better, higher goals. Maybe, just maybe, your decision to make a new path will encourage those around you to create a new path for themselves.
As I read several versions of this Bible verse, the Message version spoke it clearest for me today. And today is the first day to making tomorrow a better ACH.
Philippians 3:12-14 MSG
“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.”
